Chuadanga: A construction worker died on Tuesday as a truck knocked him down in Alamdanga upazila of Chuadanga.
The deceased was identified as Tuku Mondal ,60, of Islampur village in the upazila.
Alamdanga Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Biplob Kumar Nath said locals Tuku was crushed under the wheels of the truck while working for the construction of the boundary wall of Naodabandbil graveyard.
He was rushed to Alamdanga Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.
Saiful Islam, the helper of the truck, was driving the vehicle at the time.
Locals detained him and handed him over to the police, said Sub-Inspector Liton, duty officer of Alamdanga Police Station.
