US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas yesterday inaugurated the new location of American Corner in Rajshahi.
This initiative is a joint effort between the US Embassy and the Varendra University that aims to foster knowledge exchange, promote people to people ties, and strengthen the ties between the US and Bangla-desh, said a press release issued by US mission here.
The US exchange alumni, government officials, educators, students, and members of the local communi-ty gathered to witness the unveiling of this vibrant center for learning and exploration.
The American Corner is designed to be a hub of intellectual engagement, providing access to a wide range of resources including books, digital materials, multimedia content and online databases.
It serves as a space where students, researchers and enthusiasts can gather to expand their horizons, en-gage in discussions and collaborate on projects that contribute to educational and social development.
The American Corner also hosts a variety of programs, workshops, and events focused on areas such as English language learning, entrepreneurship, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathemat-ics), and American literature and history.
These activities will not only enhance participants’ skills but also foster a deeper appreciation for the di-versity of thought and ideas, said the press release.
The inauguration ceremony was a testament to the strong collaboration between the American Embassy and its local partners, reflecting their shared commitment promoting educational excellence and intercul-tural dialogue.
