ISLAMABAD, May 30 (Net) — Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has held a telephone conversa-tion with President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan and congratulated him on his reelection, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.
In the phone call, Sharif said that his government was determined to work with Erdogan to further solid-ify the bilateral brotherly ties between the two countries in the coming days, the office said in a state-ment on Monday.
The prime minister said that the relations between Pakistan and Türkiye have shown remarkable pro-gress, adding that Türkiye will continue its journey on the path of progress and prosperity with the same pace under the wise and sagacious leadership of the Turkish president, the statement said.
“I am certain that Türkiye will play a more effective role for the peace and stability in the Islamic world … Your (Turkish president) personal interest in further solidifying and deepening the special relationship between Pakistan and Türkiye is a source of strength and satisfaction,” he said.
During the telephone conversation, Erdogan thanked the Pakistani prime minister and reciprocated the warm sentiments of goodwill, the prime minister’s office said.
