Noakhali: A 45-year-old woman and her daughter were stabbed to death allegedly by some miscreants in the municipality area of Noakhali Sadar upazila on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Nur Nahar Begum, wife of Fazle Azim Kochi and their daughter Fatema Azim Priyonti, residents of Guptanko Barlington area in the municipality.
Mizanur Rahman Pathan, officer-in-charge of Sudharam Police Station said a group of miscreants swooped on the house of Nur Nahar around 10:45 am and stabbed her and her daughter, leaving the mother on the spot and the daughter injured.
Later, she was taken to a local hospital where doctors declared her dead.
Police arrested a man in this connection.
The motive behind the killing could not be known immediately.
