Rajshahi: Bodies of two students of Rajshahi Cantonment Public School and College, who went missing in the Padma River on Saturday, were recovered from Srirmpur T-Dam area in the river on Sunday.
The deceased were Sarwar Saim, son of Saidur Rahman and Rifat Khandaker Galib, son of SKhaza Mainuddin of Motihar area.
Abdur Rauf, Senior station officer of Rajshahi Fire Service said the divers from local fire service recov-ered the body of Saim from the area around 7:30 am while the body of Rifat at noon from the same place.
Earlier, on Saturday, nine students of the school went to a shoal of the Padma for playing football on Saturday morning.
After playing football all of them went to the Padma River for taking bath. At one stage, Rifat and Saim washed away by the strong current of the river and went missing.
Later, the other students made an emergency call at 999 requesting help.
