Ministry of Public Administration (MOPA) yesterday formed a one-member probe committee to inves-tigate the allegation of Taka 3 (three) crore bribery over posting of a Deputy Commissioner (DC).
According to a notification of the MOPA, Additional Secretary Md Rezaul Maksud Zahedy will probe the authenticity of the allegation of offering a cheque for Taka 3.0 crore which was published in a Bang-la daily.
The ministry has asked the committee to submit the report along with specific opinion after verifying authenticity of the cheque to the senior secretary of the MOPA within the next three days.
The ministry formed the committee following a report published in the daily Kalbela newspaper on Sep-tember 24, 2024, about offering a cheque for Tk. 3 crore for a DC posting.
Senior assistant secretary of the MOPA KM Yeasir Arafat will provide support to the committee as member secretary, the notification said.
