Fact-checked: The person was CA’s Deputy Press Secretary, not Ex-MP Shirin’s son

Staff Reporter:

Several posts being shared on social media recently claiming that former MP Shirin Akhter’s son Amit Manoshiz was seen during the Chief Adviser’s meeting with students are found false, fact-checkers said.

In the photo claiming Amit sitting beside Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant Mahfuj Alam was actually CA’s Deputy Press Secretary Apurba Jahangir.

Talking to UNB, Apurba also confirmed that he was actually sitting beside Mahfuj Alam and the photo went viral on social media. “I was the person wearing the white shirt next to Mahfuj Alam that day.”

Fact-watch also confirmed the social media claim “false.”

Apurba started his career at the age of 18 as a featured writer for The Daily Star. After 7 years at the English outlet, he worked as a copywriter for different advertising agencies and nonprofits, where he got to work with renowned local and foreign brands.

In 2019, he started his own creative studio called “THE IDEA COMPANY.”

As he is a former student of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, the university teachers have also confirmed this.
