Biman Bangladesh Airlines has clarified that it has imposed no embargo or restrictions on the publication of news reports concerning the national flag carrier, reaffirming its commitment to press freedom, transparency and the public’s right to information.
In a press release issued yesterday, the airline said journalists were free to exercise their professional judgment and follow their respective editorial policies while reporting on matters related to Biman, subject to applicable laws and regulations.
“Biman Bangladesh Airlines wishes to clarify that no embargo has been imposed by the airline on the publication of news reports concerning the organisation,” the release said.
The national flag carrier said it highly valued the media’s role in ensuring public access to information and respected the principles of press freedom, responsible journalism and the public’s right to information.
