He said BGB personnel are providing security at 1,425 puja mandaps located in border areas.
The force has also launched the “Sharadiya Surokkha App” and set up a special monitoring cell to coordinate security operations and monitor the overall situation.
BGB also urged people to verify the authenticity of information before sharing misinformation or provocative content on social media.
Meanwhile, BGB said communication is underway to bring back two Bangladeshi police personnel detained by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) along the Brahmanpara border in Cumilla.
Mahbub Morshed said discussions were underway over the detention of the two police personnel at the Shashidal border and expressed hope that they would be brought back soon.
Earlier, the two police personnel from Brahmanpara Police Station were detained by the BSF after crossing the border and entering Indian territory.
