10 Riyadh flights cancelled in three days

Staff Reporter:

A total of 10 flights between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh have been cancelled over the past three days following repeated Houthi attacks on Riyadh’s international airport, affecting 3,431 pas-sengers.
According to updated information from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), the affect-ed flights include two operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, two by US-Bangla Airlines, three by Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) and three by Riyadh Airways.
The latest figures show that the number of affected flights has risen to 10 from nine, while the number of affected passengers has increased to 3,431 from the previously reported 3,012.
The flight disruptions began on Saturday following a series of Houthi attacks targeting Riyadh’s interna-tional airport.
Airport operations were suspended on Sunday amid heightened security concerns, disrupting air connec-tivity between Bangladesh and the Saudi capital.
Riyadh airport has reportedly come under attack at least five times over the past week.
The continuing disruptions have left thousands of Bangladesh-bound and Riyadh-bound passengers fac-ing uncertainty over their travel arrangements.
