MIAMI, Oct 9, 2026 (GM/NET) – Hurricane Isaias has strengthened into a major category 3 storm as it barrels towards the US Gulf Coast, the National Hurricane Center said, with landfall expected in Florida, Alabama or Mississippi in the next 24 hours.
“Isaias has strengthened to a major hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 120 mph (195 km/h) with higher gusts,” the National Hurricane Center said in an update.
