A Dhaka court yesterday placed a man on two-day remand in a case lodged over brutal killing of police constable Amirul Islam Pervej, 32, on October 28.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury passed the order as police produced accused Sha-hidullah before the court and pleaded to place him on seven-day police remand.
Earlier on October 30, another court placed two people including Palashbari Swechasebak Dal convener Shamim on seven-day remand in the case.
Police filed the case with Paltan Model Police Station against 164 people, making BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam as the prime accused in the case.
Constable Pervej was brutally killed allegedly by the leaders and activists of BNP during their grand rally in capital’s Naya Paltan area on October 28.
