The Election Commission on Thursday night announced the names of 349 members of parliament as voters for the upcoming presidential election, slated to be held on 20 August.
Earlier in the day, the EC Secretariat published the election schedule for picking the country’s 23rd president.
As per the schedule, the final date for submitting nomination papers is 13 August, and the date for withdrawing nomination papers is 18 August.
On 24 July, the previous president Mohammed Shahabuddin resigned from his post citing ill-health. Since then, Parliament Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed has been serving as the acting president.
