Additional Inspector General of Police (Addl IGP) Barrister Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain yesterday formally assumed charge as the chief of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Earlier, he served as Director of the National Security Intelligence (NSI), according to a gazette notifi-cation issued here yesterday.
A 15th BCS Police cadre officer, he joined Bangladesh Police as an ASP in 1995.
During his nearly three decade career, he served in CID, DMP, CMP, RAB, Police Headquarters, Police Academy Sardah and as superintendent of police in Pirojpur and Chapainawabganj, gaining extensive experience in investigation, intelligence, training and administration.
Senior CID officials welcomed him at the charge-taking ceremony.
