Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) detained 18 activists of Awami League (now facing ban on its activi-ties) and its affiliated organizations in separate drives in the capital on Tuesday.
They were detained from Dhanmondi, Hazaribagh, Tejgaon, Shahbagh, Bangshal, Sutrapur, Paltan, Pal-labi and Kafrul areas, said ADC (Media) of DMP Niaz Mehedi.
Police said such operations would continue to maintain public safety and maintain law and order in the capital.
Legal proceedings against them are underway.
