Land Minister Md. Mizanur Rahman Minu has called upon the government agencies to pay land devel-opment tax on time to boost the government’s revenue income.
He said this while addressing a workshop titled “Measures for Collecting Land Development Tax from Organizations” at Bhumi Bhaban yesterday.
“Running a country requires financial resources, and just as private organizations pay taxes, various gov-ernment institutions are also required to pay land development tax,” he said.
The minister further said the national budget presented in Parliament last week has been widely accept-ed.
The budget clearly outlines the sources from which the government will collect revenue.
Addressing the officials present, he urged them to promptly pay any outstanding land development tax owed by their respective offices and to ensure that sufficient allocations for land development tax are included when preparing future departmental budgets.
Senior Land Secretary A S M Saleh Ahmed, Land Appeal Board Chairman Md. Abdullah Al Baki also spoke with Land Reforms Board Chairman A. J. M Salahuddin Nagari in the chair.
Officials from various ministries, agencies, and departments also attended the event.
