A total of 79,164 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims have reached Saudi Arabia in 201 Hajj flights.
Director of the Bangladesh Hajj Office Md Lokman Hossain said that 201 flights from Dhaka landed in Jeddah till Saturday.
According to hajj bulletin, 24 pilgrims died due to poor health CONDITION till yesterday. Of them, 17 are male and seven female. Fifteen pilgrims died in Makkah and nine in Madinah.
Meanwhile, a special meeting on logistics and other facilities was held with representatives of Hajj guides and Maktabs in Arafah and Mina.
Religious affairs secretary Munshi Alauddin Al Azad was in the chair while Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad was present as the chief guest and Shamim Kaiser Lincon was present as the special guest.
The meeting discussed in details the overall Hajj management including transportation arrangements to Mina and Arafa, food supply, accommodation and medical services during the Hajj days.
It said that Saudi medical team automatically provided treatment facilities to 44,831 pilgrims while IT Helpdesk gave medical services to 20,987 till yesterday.
He said a total of 78,500 people from Bangladesh have been allowed to perform Hajj this year. Of them, 660 agencies are handling Hajj operations under private management, including 30 lead agencies and 630 coordinating agencies.
According to airline-wise data, 38,702 pilgrims arrived in 98 flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 27,340 in 73 flights of Saudi Airlines, and 12,157 pilgrims on 30 flights of Flynas Airlines.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated this year’s hajj flight on April 17.
Of the total pilgrims, 4,564 reached in Saudi Arabia under government management, 73,926 under pri-vate arrangements and 774 representatives from various organizations, according to Hajj office infor-mation.
The holy Hajj will be observed in Saudi Arabia on May 26.
Pilgrims will start returning home from May 30, while the last return hajj flight is on June 30.
