Staff Reporter:
Advance bus ticket sales for long-distance travel during Eid-ul-Fitr will begin on 3 March.
From that day, passengers can purchase tickets for any day between 12 March and the day before Eid.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Bangladesh Bus–Truck Owners’ Association held on Saturday in the capital’s Gabtali, said the association’s secretary Shubhankar Ghosh Rakesh.
Rakesh said advance tickets will be available from 3 March via both counters and online platforms.
“No fare above the rates set by the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) will be allowed. The same fares will apply on online platforms, and every counter will be required to display the BRTA-approved fare chart,’ he added.
Mentioning that CCTV cameras have been installed at key bus counters to prevent ticket scalping, Rakesh said any irregularities will be dealt with legally, and administrative measures will also be taken by the owners’ association.
