I have come to cast last vote of my life: Centenarian Fuljan Begum

Staff Reporter:

A 100-year-old woman, Fuljan Begum, cast her vote at the Purba Sadardi Government Primary School polling centre in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur.

Arriving at the centre in an auto-rickshaw and leaning on a walking stick, she was accompanied by her son.

She reached the polling station at around 11:30am and expressed joy at being able to vote, describing it as possibly the last ballot of her life.

Female Ansar members were seen assisting her upon arrival at the centre.

“I am voting in a pleasant environment. I do not know if I will get another opportunity to vote,” she said.

Presiding Officer Rubel Hossain said the elderly voter was given full cooperation to ensure she could cast her ballot without difficulty.
