Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury thursday said the government is taking multiple measures to reach healthcare services to the people, reports BSS.
“Bangladesh achieved a remarkable success in many key indicators including reducing child and maternal mortality rate and child immunization coverage as the government has implemented various progress,” she told a function here, an official release said.
Community clinics are marking significant contribution to providing medical services to the rural people, the speaker made the comment while inaugurating a two-day health camp marking the 14th death anniversary of renowned nuclear scientist Dr MA Wazed Miah.
She said: “A total of 32 types of medicines are available in community clinics…Rural people are getting basic healthcare services from the community clinics.”
Neurosurgeon of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Dr Muhammad Hossain and Principal of Rangpur Medical College and Hospital Dr Bimal Chandra Roy, among others, addressed the function with Deputy Commissioner Dr Chitra Likha Naznin in the chair.
