Babar’s concerns about meet of Hasina-S Alam Gr in India

Staff Reporter:

Former state minister for the home ministry Lutfozzaman Babar yesterday expressed his party BNP’s concerns about the meeting between deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina and S Alam Group in neigh-boring India to foil the upcoming national election.
The concerns were expressed during a meeting between a delegation of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) led by Babar and Home Adviser Lt Gen (retd.) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury at the home min-istry in Bangladesh Secretariat yesterday.
Babar said they hold a meeting with the Home Adviser to inform the government about some concerns of the BNP as part of the move to help the interim government and the Chief Adviser to hold the next election in a peaceful manner.
“We have expressed our concerns about some issues involving the upcoming national elections that in-clude the meeting between ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and S Alam Group in India to thwart the next national polls,” he said while replying to a question after coming out of the meeting.
He said that they have also expressed concerns about the overall situation of recovery of the looted and illegal firearms and ammunition.
Replying to a query whether the current law and order situation is good or bad, Babar said, “I won’t answer the question in yes or no. But, the government has been trying their best in this connection.”
In response to another question, Babar said their leader BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman will soon return to the country.
Babar expressed his gratitude to the almighty Allah as he has been able to visit the home ministry after 16 and half years.
BNP leader Babar who was in jail in multiple cases got released from the jail recently following acquit-tal of all the charges by the courts.
