Land ministry senior secretary ASM Saleh Ahmed yesterday said optimum services will have to be en-sured for the land service seekers in correcting the khatians.
“Khatian is the main proof of the position of land, not the deed of ownership,” he said while speaking at a workshop on ‘Automated land and correction of the recorded khatian in service system’ held at the conference room of the Bhumi Bhaban. Land Reforms Board organized the workshop.
The secretary said if any name mistakenly include in a khatian instead of a real owner, he or she would not be the owner of the land and the ownership of real owner would not be curtailed.
Among others, Additional Secretary (Development) of the land ministry Md Emdadul Haque Chow-dhury, Additional Secretary (field administration) Md Mahfuzur Rahman and Project Director Md Par-vez Hassan, were present at the workshop.
