Window damaged after stone thrown at metro rail

Staff Reporter:

A glass window of metro rail’s coach has been damaged after a stone was thrown at it on the way from Agargaon to Uttara North station around 11am on Sunday.

DMTCL Deputy Project Director (Public Relations) Nazmul Islam Bhuiyan confirmed the information on Monday.

Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) filed a written complaint at Kafrul police station on the day of the incident.

Nazmul Islam said: “Miscreants threw the stone from a place between Kazipara and Shewrapara and it hit the window of the metro rail.”

He added that the stone might have been thrown from a multi-storied building or a rooftop near the incident site.

Hafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Kafrul police station, said that the process of registering DMTCL’s complaint as a case is underway.
