The government has formed a five-member committee to ensure the autonomy of the state-run Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Bangladesh Betar as per recommendations of the Media Reform Commission.
The committee will work to prepare a roadmap for implementing the recommendations and will also review the policies for television and other media.
The committee will be led by Education Adviser CR Abrar, said a press release issued by the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing on Thursday.
The other members of the committee are Law Adviser Asif Nazrul, Environment Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Road Transport and Bridges Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan and Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan.
The decision was taken during a meeting held at the State Guest House Jamuna in Dhaka this afternoon with Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus in the chair.
