Power generation hits landmark 15,304MW

The country witnessed the record power generation of 15,304MW on Thursday, says a spokesman for the ministry of power energy and mineral resources.

“We previously generated highest 14,932MW on Wednesday…but the production reached 15,304MW at 9:00pm today (Thursday) for the first time in the country’s history,” Mir Mohammad Aslam Uddin, Deputy Chief Information Officer of Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources told the Daily Sun.

Of the production, 6,072MW comes from gas-fired plants; 5,635MW from liquid fuel; 2,618MW from coal-fired plants; 25MW from Hydro and 1,713MW from power import, the official confirmed.
The installed electricity generation capacity is now 25,700MW.
