JS session begins after 58 days

The 22nd session of the 10th parliament began at 5:00pmon Sunday with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair after a 58-day recess.
Earlier at4:00pm, the Business Advisory Committee of Parliament sat in a meeting with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair to fix the duration and businesses of the coming session.
On August 19, President M Abdul Hamid convened the session exercising his power bestowed upon him by article 72 (1) of the Constitution.
Earlier, the 21st session of the current Parliament, which was also the budget session, was prorogued onJuly 12last.
The 10th parliament went into its maiden session on January 29, 2014.
