Chattogram: A wheat-laden lighter vessel capsized in the Bay of Bengal Tuesday morning.
MV Pathgati-2, carrying 1,100 kilograms of wheat was bound towards Narayanganj. It capsized in the Bay after it was hit by another vessel MV Abdullah Asif-10 in the sea, around seven nautical miles from the port.
All 14 crew members of the vessel were rescued unhurt, said Omar Faruk, secretary of Chittagong Port Au-thority.
After getting signal seeking help, they were rescued by nearby boats, he said adding that, "A ship of Bangla-desh Navy has already reached there."
There was no problem in operation of other vessels in the sea as the location is outside the channel, he further added.
