Speakers at a seminar on Tuesday laid emphasis on strong family bonding and inclusive society.
The seminar was held at Probin Hitoishi Sangho Auditorium marking the International Day of Families.
United Nations Information Centre (UNIC), Dhaka jointly with Probin Hitoishi Sangho, World-Wide Family Love Movement (WWFLM) and Center for Ethics Education, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) organized the seminar.
The theme of this year is "families and inclusive societies".
The chief guest of the seminar was former UNDP Resident Representative Sarwar Sultana while keynote paper was presented by Kazi Ali Reza, Chief Executive Officer of Center for Ethics Education, said a press release.
Reza in his speech focused on the issues including deviation of family values, the negative use of ICT and social media and causes of generation gap.
Sultana highlighted on challenges of families, status of family bondages, economic situation, poverty, unemployment, and advantages of structured family system.
Secretary General of Probin Hitoishi Sangho Prof Dr ASM Atiqur Rahman presided over the seminar while UNIC National Information Officer Moniruzzaman moderated it and highlighted this year's theme.
Vice President of UN Association of Bangladesh and President of Nandini Sahitya and Pathchakro Selina Khaleque and Chairperson of WWFLM Tajkera Khair also spoke on the occasion.
The participants took part in open discussion and Q/A session and SDGs post cards were distributed among all the participants, it said.
