The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed gain in early trading on Wednesday, the fourth trading session of the week as the enthusiastic investors were active.
After first one hour of trading, the key index of the country's major bourse gained 2.55 points up while the Se-lective Category Index of the port city bourse rose 31.61 points.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 2.55 points or 0.04 percent to 6,201 points at 11:38 am.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 0.75 points or 0.05 percent to reach at 1,392 points.
But the DS30 index, comprising blue chips, lost 3.71 points or 0.16 percent to stand at 2,259 points.
Turnover stands at Tk 1,045.84 million on the DSE at 11:38 am, riding on IFAD Autos and National Tubes.
IFAD Autos Limited dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 164.06 million changing hands till then, followed by IFAD Autos, National Tubes, Paramount Textiles and Dragon Sweater & Spinning.
Of the issues traded till then, 139 advanced, 98 declined and 51 issues remained unchanged.
However, the port city bourse, the CSE, saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX - advancing 31.61 points to stand at 11,618.36 also at 11:37 am.
Of the issues traded till then, 60 gained, 44 declined and 31 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 34.08 million.
