Both the bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed upward trends in early trading Monday, the second session of the week.
The key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) rose 19.88 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse advanced 28.79 points.
After 45 minutes of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, stands at 5,935.31 points, advancing 19.88 points or 0.33 percent at 11:49 am.
The two other indices also saw positive trends till then.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 4.30 points or 0.32 percent to 1,312.71. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 1.92 points or 0.09 percent to 2,120.42.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at Tk 3,740.09 million on the DSE, riding on Bangladesh Building Systems and Fortune Shoes.
Bangladesh Building Systems Ltd dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 350.02 million changing hands till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 192 advanced, 78 declined and 43 issues remained unchanged.
The port city bourse, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX - advancing 28.79 points to 11,117.50, also at 11:47 am.
Of the issues traded till then, 116 gained, 57 declined and 18 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 177 million.
